Texans on Mission is feeding more than 2,900 meals per day in Houston after a tornado caused massive damage in the area on May 16.

The meals are being distributed through the American Red Cross (photo below), Salvation Army and local congregations like LifeBrook Church of Houston.

“We just want to go out and express the love of Christ in a very tangible way” — through food, said Zach Brackett, lead pastor for Lifebrook Church. “We don't have the bandwidth to prepare this amount of food this quickly, but having Texans on Mission prepare that food for us […] allows us to go love and serve our community well and to care for them.”

First Metropolitan Church of Houston allowed Texans on Mission to use their parking lot to prepare the food for distribution. Pastor John Ogletree (photo above) of the church got a first-hand look at the TXM mass feeding operation.
