TBM has named Preston Cave as the organization’s missions and discipleship coordinator to cultivate missions activity among high school, college students and young adults effective Jan. 1.
In his new role, Cave will help churches and ministries develop young leaders through discipleship and hands-on experiences such as serving through TBM disaster relief and water ministries in Texas and beyond.
“Since the very beginning, TBM has been committed to discipling young people,” said TBM Executive Director/CEO Mickey Lenamon. “With Preston, we are expanding that effort to include young adults. As they participate in God’s work across the state and around the globe, we believe they will be transformed, setting the stage for them to be the leaders God is calling them to be.”
Cave comes to TBM after serving as associate pastor at Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, where he developed family ministry, created a strategy where over 100 students are prayed for daily and paved the way for teenagers to be leaders within the congregation.
Prior to serving at Lakeside Baptist Church, Cave served as student minister at First Baptist Church in Grandview, First Baptist Church in Centerville and First Baptist Church in Dawson.
Beyond his time on church staff, Cave is an up and coming leader in Texas Baptist life. He has written seven books, served as a consultant on family ministry and led seminars statewide on topics such as leadership, evangelism, apologetics, parenting and reaching fathers with the gospel. He also has been involved in Super Summer Evangelism Training Camps, Texas Baptists’ Youth Evangelism Conference and BOUNCE student disaster recovery.
