You can provide practical help to families who have lost everything after the hurricane. Along the way, you can encourage them and share God's love. Serve for a day or multiple days. No experience or training necessary. Service opportunities are available in Tennessee and North Carolina. Find out everything you need to know about each opportunity below.

 

JOHNSON CITY, TENNESSEE:

Serve on the feeding team or clean out homes as part of the flood recovery team. You'll have the opportunity to minister to those affected by the hurricane as you serve. 

  • No experience needed. We'll teach you everything you need to know.
  • Volunteers must be 14 years old or older. Volunteers ages 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 
  • We will have weekly shuttles from Texans on Mission Headquarters to Johnson City to help with transportation. The shuttle leaves Dallas on Mondays and returns one week later on Wednesdays. If you choose to take the shuttle, you are committing to a week of service in Tennessee. Please make sure to reserve a spot on the shuttle by 10 a.m. the Friday before departure. Shuttle accommodation is based on availability; all transportation reservations will be confirmed prior to departure. 
  • Lodging at the church is provided based upon availability. Lodging accommodations will be confirmed prior to departure. Only volunteers ages 18 and older may stay overnight at the church.
  • Meals and drinks are provided. If you are a local volunteer, you may bring a sack lunch or you can make a lunch at the church prior to leaving for service site. 
  • Service times begin each day at 8 a.m. and will conclude approximately at 4 p.m.
  • Please wear long pants, comfortable clothes, close-toed shoes and a cap.  

 

SPINDALE, NORTH CAROLINA:

Serve as part of a chainsaw team helping people who have fallen trees and limbs on their property. You'll save families thousands of dollars and have the opportunity to minister to them as you serve. 

  • You'll pick up debris and drag limbs. We'll teach you everything you need to know.
  • Volunteers must be 14 years old or older. Volunteers ages 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 
  • Must provide your own transportation to work site.
  • Lodging at the church is provided based upon availability. Lodging accommodations will be confirmed prior to departure. Only participants ages 18 and older may stay overnight at the church.
  • Meals and drinks are provided. If you are a local volunteer, you may bring a sack lunch or you can make a lunch at the church prior to leaving for service site. 
  • Service times begin each day at 8 a.m. and will conclude approximately at 4 p.m.
