Think about it: $50,000 in free labor per week.
That's what Texans on Mission Church Builders are providing for construction of a mentoring center for fatherless children in Corpus Christi. They are now about 11 days into the project.
They and other Texans on Mission volunteers began the previous Monday ripping out old walls and conduit. Now, except for the roof trusses, "Every piece of wood, we put it in. Every piece of conduit, we put it in.” said Wayne Pritchard, director of TXM Builders.
The building is a 13,200-square-feet former monastery. The building, now owned by Majesty Outdoors, is being converted into a mentoring center for children without fathers.
"We’re making a lot of progress,” Pritchard said.
In a couple of photos you'll see that our volunteers are leaving behind some graffiti of the highest order – Scripture.
Pray for these skilled volunteers and the techincally unskilled volunteers who support them. And pray this ministry will help more and more children learn both spiritual and practical life lessons through Majesty Outdoors.
